CANUSB is an adapter (dongle) that plugs into a USB port and gives access to the CAN bus via software (as simple as a terminal program or proprietary software) via a COM port (serial RS232 port), in this way no additional drivers. It is also possible to install a DLL (CANUSB DLL) for faster communication and/or higher bus load on the CAN bus. Transmission and reception can also take place with a standardized ASCII format that LAWICEL developed in 1997.
